COVID-19 has Affected Cancer Treatment for Doreen

We wanted to share a very sad update about one of our little patients, Doreen, to illustrate the challenges the COVID-19 crisis has created in Uganda.

The first picture is of Doreen after two cycles of chemotherapy for a tumour on her jaw. She was due to go back to the Cancer Institute at Mulago in Kampala to continue with her treatment but troubles mainly with finding a caretaker while undergoing treatment and due to the lockdown was unable to go.

The second and third pictures are from a visit today. The tumour has grown dramatically, possibly larger than when we first met her. Our team is doing everything they can to try to figure out a way for little Doreen to get back to Mulago for treatment. Thank you for your continued love, support and prayers in this very difficult situation.
